If you or someone you know would like to donate for the event on your behalf online/by credit card, you may call Make-A-Wish of South Florida at 954-967-WISH (9474) and say the donation is for Swing for the Wishes presented by WishMakers at the University of Miami.What: Swing for the Wishes Celebrity Softball Tournament to grant our child’s wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of South Florida. We will be having celebrities from around the country and South Florida area available to participants for meet and greet, photos, autographs and more.
Top fundraising teams will be able to have a celebrity play on their team. Celebrities expected so far are:
* Miami Heat Legend Tim Hardaway
- Five-Time NBA All-Star
- Collected 5,000 points and 2,500 assists faster than any player in NBA history except Oscar Robertson.
- Dished his 1,947th assist with the Heat to become the all-time leader in franchise history in a 75-70 victory over the Orlando Magic on 4/22/99
- Selected for the 1999 USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team which participated in the 1999 Americas Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from July 14-25, for the 2000 Olympic Games
- Named to the 1997-98 All-NBA Second Team, 1997-98 NBA All-Interview Second Team, the 1996-97 All-NBA First Team, the 1991-92 All-NBA Second Team and the 1992-93 All-NBA Third Team

In 2005 she made an appearance in the TV show Over There in the episode "The Prisoner" she played Sawa (Credited as Francia Almendarez). In 2006 co-stared in the movie Bring It On: All or Nothing whom she played Leti (credited as Francia Almendarez). In 2007 co-stared in Bulletface she played the character Maria (credited as Francia Almendarez). Also in 2007 she played Isabel the girl that Nolan is head over heels for in The Nickelodeon Original Movie Shredderman Rules. In 2008 Francia stared in the movie The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dreams as a hockey/figure skater (credited as Francia Raisa). Also she is in the new ABC Family original series The Secret Life of the American Teenagerwhere she plays the "Hot Girl" in school named Adrian Lee

Adam placed 12th in the 200 IM and 16th in the 200 free at the 2008 Olympic Trials ... led the Team with five medals and three gold medals at the 2007 World University Games, set Games records in the 200m free, 400m free relay and 800m free relay. 17-time NCAA All-American...5-time NCAA Champion...2007 Arizona Athlete of the Year

* U.S. Olympic Swimmer Maritza Correia
Maritza earned silver swimming prelims of the 400m free relay at the 2004 Olympic Games ... became the first black woman to qualify for an Olympic swim team ... won four gold medals at the 2005 World University Games, capturing individual gold in the 50m free and three relay golds ... earned a gold medal swimming on prelim 400m free relay at the 2003 World Championships

* Music Artist Jason DeRulo
Jason is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, choreographer, producer and actor signed to JR Rotem’s label Beluga Heights. He has written hit singles for acts such as Lil Wayne, Pleasure P, Pitbull, Stat Quo and Birdman. His debut single, Whatcha Say, was released to radio in June 2009. It debuted at #54 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has since peaked at #1. He his recent hit song is In My Head. His debut album is set to be released early 2010.

Why: To grant the wish of going to DisneyWorld for our child, who suffers from neurologic seizures, while also promoting happiness and joy through a one-of-a-kind experience.
Who: Any currently enrolled graduate or undergraduate student at the University of Miami may participate
Teams: Teams consist of a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 15 people. A participant may not play for multiple teams Each team member must register and each team must have paid the registration fee. This fee covers t-shirts, access to meet special guests, and other amenities provided. There is a 32 TEAM MAXIMUM LIMIT.
Fees: Registration is $10 per person. We encourage everyone to raise as much as they can however due to prizes and awards for those who raise the most
Transportation:
-Buses will be provided and will run on continuous roundtrips to pick and drop off participants at Tropical Park. Buses will depart from Stanford Circle.
-If you are driving, parking is free.
